Both companies emphasize the importance of providing an inclusive environment for both the employees and the customers. Moreover, HubSpot and Costco share the values of long-term employee commitment and, in that way, efficient working plans. At the same time, Costco additionally demonstrates low pricing and minimal advertising policies, which HubSpot does not (Kletz 2019). On the other hand, HubSpot prioritizes sharing creative ideas and promoting diversity by providing opportunities for various social groups.
Based on the mentioned values of HubSpot, it would be fair to assume that the company follows a team-based organizational structure. In that way, the company still has managers and chief ranks, but the general outline includes groups of people on a similar level. Since HubSpot values cooperation, inclusivity, and diversity, its employees must all share similar opportunities to express their ideas and grow individually (Slack 2019). Furthermore, a team-based structure allows for meaningful and impactful business cooperation, which ultimately leads to business expansion, one of HubSpot’s primary goals.
One way the strong culture of HubSpot could turn out to be a liability in the future is through lack of eventual lack of organization. This can be considered a disadvantage of the mentioned company structure, which rejects the typical hierarchy. The system can become dysfunctional if the job’s promotional and business growth aspects become too vague for the employees. Hence, the lack of clear leadership roles may become problematic for the employees’ motivation and productiveness.
I believe I would be a good fit for HubSpot as it encourages ambitious and hard-working individuals to share their ideas in a stimulating environment, which describes my personal work ethic. The company values are very similar to my own and fit in the constantly evolving world. Besides the common values, I would be a strong candidate due to my ability to work with other people and promote productive discussions.
