Requirements for the presentation include:
• 5-7 minutes of presentation
• Audio; we must be able to hear you!
• A sense of organization
o A hook to draw your listeners into your presentation
o Use either the Classical or the Rogerian form
o Documentation of your sources either verbally or visually
• Demonstrate a sense of persuasion. This is not an informative presentation. You must ask the audience to agree with your perspective on your issue.
• Make sure to demonstrate your ethos as well as logos and ethos.
• A minimum of three references to support your position or explanation of the topic. Be sure to provide source introductions for these references (such as “According to…”).
1. Avoid Personal Experiences: The goal is to persuade the audience, but we cannot use our own personal experiences and stories to do so. Instead, we establish credibility through research, objective tone, and acknowledging our opposition. 2. Start Strong: Capture your audience’s attention within the first 30 seconds. Use a compelling opening, a surprising fact, or a thought-provoking question to set the tone. Review the notes you made here on your audience to determine what approach will work best for this specific demographic. 3. Audience Involvement: Engage your audience by asking questions, encouraging participation, or sharing relatable anecdotes. This approach helps to build essential trust and rapport. 4. Persuasive Call-to-Action: Conclude your presentation with a compelling call-to-action.
The previous assignments that I will post below are all directly related to this powerpoint; these facts, format, and sources should be utilized.
