of EACH of the NINE functions of film music. These nine functions are covered in Class
3.
3. Name the function, in its entirety, and verbatim. This is beyond easy. (1 mark-
essentially a gift. Look up verbatim if need be. When some students reword these
functions, their meanings often change.)
4. Give a complete, 1 (one only) sentence description of how the music in the
scene you have selected shows it fulfilling one of the nine functions. (See examples
below)
5. Provide the timing, as closely as you can, of when the scene happens. Please don’t
stress if your timings are 2 or 3 seconds “off”. As long as it’s close enough for me to find
your example, all is good.
Do this three-part answer process for each function, for a total of 27 marks (3X9) and
15% of your grade.
