The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a set of principles that advocates for the rights of all humans as a means of ensuring their freedom and justice. These rights help to protect and safeguard the dignity of individuals from barbarous actions. The current paper, thereby, is a reflection of these rights to understand their impact on ending atrocities of unpleasant events that occurred in the past, such as war.

The Universal Declaration was pivotal in stopping slavery by asserting all beings are equal, as affirmed in the first, second, and fourth articles. The clause declares that all individuals are entitled to equal opportunities regardless of their race, color, originality, or religion (United Nations, n. d.). The statement is effective as it has helped suppress racialism as seen through immigrants’ immigration and abilities to reside in host countries while leading everyday lives. These rights are a major reason for peace in the world. Those who feel they are more powerful are bound to this framework and cannot do as they wish to oppress others.

I do not object to any article of the Universal Declaration of Rights because all of them seek to uphold the well-being of the human race. These rights promote being mindful of others and working to ease their suffering by providing assistance as per one’s capability. Individuals in war-tone countries can find refuge in safer areas and obtain the essentials they need to sustain life, such as asylum seekers (United Nations, n. d.). People can engage in social activities to obtain justice when they feel oppressed, for example, Black Lives Matter, as per article 8. The role played by these rights cannot be surpassed or dismissed because everyone is entitled to equal rights involving existing opportunities anywhere in the world.
