The publication underscores the impact of educational technology and modern language teaching tools on teaching English as a second language. The paper is based on a qualitative analysis of the impacts and roles played by information technology on English Language Learning (ELL) students. The questionnaire method is used to collect the views of students at Al-Jabal All-Gharbi University in Libya. The author emphasizes the different applications of technology to enhance English learning. The research article was published on 23 February 2013 by Bassma Basheer Nomass. The use of computers is the most recent development that assists in all aspects of English language skills (Nomass, 2013). The sub-categorization of the English language skills into output and input skills creates a better understanding of the interrelations and connections between elements of a language: reading, speaking, writing, and listening.
I find the questionnaire used in the case study to encompass all the factors relating to the performance in a typical English language classroom. However, the paper does not include the number of participants in the study. I would prefer if the author used the questionnaire to evaluate the relative impacts of educational technology on reading, speaking, writing, and listening subcategories. The author wraps up with an authoritative affirmation of the positive effects of technology on ELL. The recommendations emphasize on application of technology and computers in theory and practice to impart practical learning and teaching of a second language.
