Introduction

The Aztec Empire was highly developed socially, intellectually, and creatively. It was an organized society with a strict caste system – at the top were nobles, and at the bottom were serfs, indentured servants, and enslaved workers (Bowstead, 2022). My first reaction to an Aztec settlement would most likely be one of fear because the empire is notorious for its brutality in addition to its development. However, I remember that for successful acculturation and safe communication, it is necessary to be imbued with the Aztec culture and remember its main symbols. For example, the legend of an eagle sitting on a cactus and holding a snake in its claws has survived to this day on the flag and coat of arms of Mexico.

Discussion

In addition, it is known that the Aztecs were deeply religious, making a large part of their culture. The primary guiding culture of the Aztecs was religion (Bowstead, 2022). They built huge, stepped pyramids topped with temples to worship the gods. There, the priests performed their bloody rites of sacrifice. For this reason, knowledge of the main gods, and even better, the entire pantheon of gods, will help to become a part of Aztec society.

On the other hand, in the absence of at least basic knowledge in this area, one can show respect for their religious cult and try not to criticize excessive brutality. It should be remembered that the Aztecs were warriors and conquerors, thus, it is necessary to show a friendly attitude (Bowstead, 2022). I can show that I am not hiding anything against them and am ready to share my knowledge and experience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would like my friends and family to remember that the Aztec Empire is known as an empire ruined by cruelty. Inadequate use of force is an example of a ‘convulsive’ response to a state of fear and assurances of the need for victims to cease to work. In addition, no less cruel invasions of the Spaniards into the territory of ancient civilizations are the same vivid example of what greed and lack of humanity and morality can lead to. This event will change my view of the world: I will understand that people are still mostly cruel. Thus, meeting the Aztecs will teach me that there is no justification for cruelty.
