The playbook titled Romeo and Juliet is my favourite, and William Shakespeare is the author of this romantic narrative which later ended tragically. The story is so exciting and after reading it, I was interested in watching its movie on the big theatre screen. This essay will first evaluate the script of the play and thereafter give its summary to enable readers create a clear picture of what the book is all about.

The story begins with the Capulet and the Montague families having some resentment against each other. The Capulet family want their daughter to be married to Paris. Accidentally, Romeo Montague meets and falls in love with Juliet instead. So, the two arrange to marry in secret with the help of Juliet’s nurse. Romeo’s attempt to stop the enmity resulted in the death of Tybalt, the cousin of Juliet, and this leads to Romeo being banished. In a way to reunite with Romeo, Juliet pretends to be dead. Unfortunately, Romeo did not know about Juliet’s plan, therefore, he believed that she was indeed dead. So, Romeo went to visit Juliet’s tomb, and upon arriving there, sorrow overcame him and he committed suicide. When Juliet woke up and found Romeo dead, she felt extremely overwhelmed with grief and killed herself too.

From the story, if the two families had not held on to their resentment of each other, their children would have still been alive. In addition to that, Juliet should have been granted the freedom of choosing her lover. In that case, she would have definitely picked Romeo, and therefore, this misfortune would not have happened. Regrettably, this lovely affair was kept secret because of the animosity that existed between these families. If only the two parties had found a peaceful resolution to their problem, then Romeo and Juliet would still been alive and happily married to each other.

Therefore, parents are advised to give freedom to their children to look for their lovers themselves. Additionally, upon learning that Juliet was dead, Romeo should have taken some time to find out the truth first, and this action would have prevented both deaths. It is unfortunate that his feelings controlled him, leading him to make quick decisions. This act shows that too much emotions could be exceedingly dangerous and powerful in such circumstances. Thus, it is advisable to avoid reacting when experiencing excessive emotions, but instead, one should seek guidance and counselling.
