Due to recent events in the USA, the problem of the policy violence against African Americans is now one of the most discussed and urgent topics of the last weeks. Nevertheless, the brutality has existed for centuries before without being punished or paid attention to. The statistic shows that the violence from law enforcement officials causes thousands of deaths of black men in the USA. The current situation is a noticeable illustration that the society and the law structures are not ready for constructing an equal and fair world together, even in the 21st century.

Research Topic

The main topic of this paper is the violence of the police against black men in the USA. This study would be concentrated on the modern situation and would aim to analyze the most significant examples of the policemen brutality and examine its reasons, conditions, and consequences in order to provide the overview of the problem and to propose possible solutions for the amelioration of the existing circumstances.

Problem

The absence of a logical explanation of the policemen’s actions is the crucial problem of the research. In this paper, the perceived reasons for that type of violence would be presented. Moreover, the historical context would be analyzed in order to find the origins of these events and the stages of development of this situation. It is also essential to examine the level of criminality among African Americans and to identify the link between the brutality of the officers and the behavior of black people.

Purpose of the Paper

The problem under discussion is fundamental and requires significant study and in-depth analysis to provide the solution. The research would be divided into three stages: description of the actual situation, historical circumstances, evaluation of the gathered data. The purpose of this paper is to provide several hypotheses on how to improve the relationship between the police and African Americans on the individual, professional, and legislative levels.

Interdisciplinarity

The main question that has to be solved in the framework of the research is how to reduce police violence against African Americans. To answer this question, it is essential to pay attention to the educational system, the process of socialization of children of different nationalities, and to examine the historical background of the relationship between the nations in the USA. Thus, Education, Sociology, and History are the three basic disciplines of the study.

Education

Nieto (2017) claims that the more multinational school or university is, the more talented and open-minded the child will be. This thesis is crucial because it shows the importance of the educational system for raising a kind-hearted man who would take all people as equal. Moreover, the study process and the understanding of social justice are closely linked, that is another argument for the necessity of upbringing a child without any prejudice (Sensoy & DiAngelo, 2017).

Sociology

African American parents prepare their children for racism and discrimination in society from their birth. It is essential to avoid such a strategy because it increases the level of fear and aggression among black children (Dunbar, Leerkes, Coard, Supple, & Calkins, 2017). Instead of it, it is better to tell boys and girls about cultural traditions, art, or historical events of their nation (Grills et al., 2016).

History

Historical echoes of the racial confrontation still exist in modern society. It is especially noticeable in the justice system where stereotypes and the past of slavery play a role in making decisions (Taylor, Guy-Walls, Wilkerson, & Addae, 2019). African Americans are claimed to be aggressive, but Ogbar (2019) puts forward the idea that this is only a response to the centuries of discrimination.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the solution to the problem is a qualified parenting. Firstly, it is important to explain children the differences in religion, skin color, or language between people. Secondly, parents should raise a sun or a daughter as a person of the fair and equal world who knows the history and the culture of his or her nation and respects the dignity of each human.
