The climate of the planet is changing, and today it is impossible to deny. The temperature of air and water is increasing every decade. When discussing warming, people often discuss the risks to nature and the economy: plants and animals will suffer from high temperatures, and droughts will force many people to move to other countries, becoming “climate refugees.” But there is another area that has already been threatened by rising temperatures: the health of people around the world.

Global warming is an indicator of the increase in the average ambient temperature over the past century. Reducing the volume of drinking water is one of the large-scale consequences of climate change. Supplies of fresh water necessary for drinking, growing food, energy production, and almost everything else is catastrophically declining, and in some areas, are already available in limited quantities. Thus, an article from Fair Observer lists steps to preserve freshwater (Geere, 201). The main way to solve the drinking water shortage problem is to save water, which every person on earth can do. That is why, it is necessary to reduce its consumption and rationally use water resources.

Climate change is moving the boundaries of species’ habitat that we usually associate with humid and warm tropical forests, such as the Anopheles malaria mosquito. The second article discusses in detail the Zika virus in Southeast Asia (Wiwanitkit, 2016). The reason why mosquitoes begin to fly to places where they have not met before is a short and warm winter. The main way to protect yourself from the disease is to turn on fumigators or tighten windows with mosquito nets. When getting out into the forest, use insect repellents and wear clothes covering the body. An article about the Zika virus turned out to be much more useful for me. Perhaps in a few years, this disease will begin to cover other countries. Therefore, it is necessary to know what to do if the virus is detected in yourself or your loved ones.

In conclusion, global warming is affecting people’s health and freshwater supplies. Of course, the main role in the fight against rising temperatures should be played by top officials of states and managers of large corporations: it depends on them whether humanity will reduce emissions of harmful substances into the air and water. Unfortunately, only a small part of countries and their Governments understand the real, catastrophic threat that has arisen over our Land.
