The two research questions guide the researcher to understand the challenges faced by Black college men and how they are solved. From the criticism, building the study from prior research was critical since it helped the researcher understand the age range of the participants and the appropriateness of the questions asked. That was critical to the success of the study and led to the associated outcome. Based on the research title, ensuring attention was given to Black college men contributed to the significance of the findings and the study’s setting. The focus of the research is critical in determining the intended outcomes, and from the findings, the criticism shows that based on culture, the success of Black men does not rely on support from men. The social support mechanism heavily relies on the women in the Black college men’s lives, and it is critical in determining the levels of academic success.

An examination of Black college men, in line with the research title, is necessary for establishing the unique interpersonal issues faced by college students. Navigating college campuses leads to developmental stressors, impacting the student’s academic adjustment and performance (Goodwill et al., 2022). The form of social support among Black college men plays a significant role in determining the levels of success, and the research questions are critical in establishing what motivates these college students to overcome their interpersonal challenges. The number of selected participants is essential since, according to Chun et al. (2019), grounded research requires between 20 and 30 subjects. Moreover, by relying on information from previous research, the findings of this study are reliable since, under similar circumstances, researchers can replicate them.
