It is not easy to imagine the modern world without computers, information technologies, and the Internet because they have already managed to occupy a special place in every person’s life. Networks have given people the opportunity to communicate potential that was not there before (Miller et al., 2016). Social networks are prevalent, but they have their advantages and disadvantages. The benefit of social networks includes the ability to communicate with work colleagues, relatives, and friends living in different cities and countries and make new acquaintances. In addition, social networks are a platform for business development, as they provide an opportunity to find new customers here and increase the loyalty of regular customers.

In addition to the advantages, social networks undoubtedly have several disadvantages. One of the most significant drawbacks is that people become addicted to social networks, spend substantial time in them, and forget about real life. Moreover, a large amount of information that is not scientific or simply correct remains in people’s memory, which can eventually lead to a decrease in mental abilities and incorrect knowledge.

Despite the existing shortcomings, people continue to use social networks and improve their accounts actively. As a result, this has led to the growing popularity of social networks, and some employers are carefully examining an employee by viewing their pages. Employers are interested in personal information because they seek to determine what their employees do in their free time, whether they have pessimistic tendencies, and who is in their social circle. Moreover, the employer can find out how competent employees are in their state. After reading the comments or posts, it will immediately become clear how literate people are, whether they know how to present themselves and whether they are well-read. Any aspect that may be related to work in one way or another will be of interest to any employer.

Maintaining complete confidentiality in social networks is complicated since this is precisely the information that other people are trying to find. However, there are several options for solving the privacy problem. One of the options is to restrict access to personal pages (Kumar et al., 2016). That is, the user can enable a function that will allow viewing the page only to those people who will be given access.
