Some people have jobs in their life, and some people have carriers in their life. These are the two different things. A job is what, a person does in exchange for money, or we can say that paid position of regular employment. For example, baby siting, pizza delivery, etc. On the other hand, an individual’s path of learning, work and other aspects of life that usually takes up a long period of person’s life.in simple words progress of person’s professional life. For example, medical carrier, in which we can be a doctor or a surgeon or a nurse.
Job and carrier have different characteristics which can define each term. In job we are motivated by external factors, and working hard and personal contribution are recognized. Job can be stable, but its liable to risks due to external factors. In carrier people are motivated by internal factors like ambitions and it has fixed growth with clear role progression. In this, risk can be reduced with planned skills development and role progression. In both terms, money play an important role. As work and enjoyment falls somewhere on the spectrum. If we are young, money is important than job satisfaction, if you want to build something for yourself, you need to own things, a house, a car to be able to provide for the family that you are building. On the other hand, the older we get these basic needs are usually covered and mostly, there’s no longer need to push ourselves for more money. Most people shift their priorities as they progress in life, and the important part is to try things and see how we feel about them.
My dream job is to work in an elderly care center and my future goal is to open an age care home in my hometown. I was very young when I saw an old lady sitting on the street near my house back in my country. First, I just ignore her and walk away but after some time, I start feeling something wrong I was kept thinking about her and then my father told me she was from a reupdated family but her sons thrown her out of the house. This story disturbed me and I tried to help her through my father and fed her. When we were searching for an old age home, we came to know there is no old age care in my town so, we have to send her to another city. This little story makes me decide I wild work in old age homes. The setting and location should be my hometown and the position I want to hold is caretaker. The tasks I want to perform is related to care take and get an opportunity to make a real change in people’s lives. The type of people I want to work with should be work for people not for the money. They should know about the pain of a person and should tries to resolve that. If I talk about money, just enough money to feed myself and my family and to full feel our needs. There is a lot of preparation I still need to work on. I am learning to maintain good contact with patient or people for whom I work for. How to involve with people to help them. In my profession, it is very important to maintain good interpersonal relations (IPR), and I have to prepare for this.
